The Castrol Tribol™ GR 4020 PD range (formerly known as Tribol™ 4020) is formulated from highly refined mineral oils, a lithium complex thickener, and Tribol Grease Oil Additive (TGOA), the latest advancement in friction and surface reduction additive technology. These multi-service greases are designed to extend bearing life in heavy-duty and high-temperature applications. The load-carrying capabilities of Tribol GR 4020 PD, which support load, wear, and friction, exceed those of conventional complex greases thanks to the advanced TGOA additive technology. Under relatively high specific loads and related temperatures, this technology promotes non-destructive smoothing of surface roughness at a micro level. This smoothing effect reduces friction and leads to an increase in the actual load-bearing surface. If surface roughness peaks redevelop due to shock loads or intermittent operation, the TGOA additive package automatically reactivates. Surface roughness is smoothed again, and lubrication is optimized.

Application:

Tribol GR 4020 PD greases were formulated as multi-service lubricants for heavy-duty applications in plain bearings and rolling bearings with medium to high loads. The TGOA additives are highly effective in protecting machined bearing surfaces during the critical run-in period. Good load-bearing surfaces are essential for long bearing life. Tribol GR 4020 PD is commonly used as a plant-wide lubricant in the automotive industry, as well as in industries where a high-performance, non-dark grease is preferred.
