Castrol Tribol CH™ 290 (formerly known as Tribol™ 290 Range) is a line of conveyor lubricants formulated with high-quality synthetic fluids. This range is designed to lubricate conveyor chains and wheel bearings of open carts in high-temperature paint ovens used in the automotive and metal decoration industries.

Tribol CH 290 is based on synthetic and water-soluble fluids known for their natural lubricating ability, good volatility properties, and chemical and thermal stability. An advanced additive system provides anti-wear and extreme pressure characteristics under extreme conditions, offering protection against overloads and extreme temperatures in ovens.

Application

Tribol CH 290 lubricates chains and bearings of open carts where compatibility with water-based paints and coatings is a critical application requirement. This range is typically recommended for oven temperatures between 150 °C and 220 °C. At high temperatures, reapply more frequently instead of increasing the application layer thickness. Tribol CH 290 is the most suitable lubricant for automotive production lines, which often include cathodic electrodeposition, water-based paints (coatings), drying, and curing in an oven. Typically, these operations involve immersing parts in baths from moving overhead conveyor systems. Lubricant drip contamination is always a threat to production and treatment baths. However, in the unlikely event that Tribol CH 290 drips into a water-based treatment bath, the compound dissolves and disperses, preventing accumulation and deterioration of coatings or electrodeposition.
